We collect personal information necessary to manage rental records, including names, phone numbers, email addresses, property addresses, and rental amounts. We also collect non-personal usage information, such as interaction patterns and feature preferences, to improve app functionality.

2. Purpose of Data Use

Your information is used to: (a) Calculate rent and generate digital bills, (b) Manage property-related ledgers, (c) Facilitate access control for property stakeholders, and (d) Improve the overall user experience through usage analysis.

3. Contact Access

The app may request access to your device's Contacts. This is solely to allow you to easily select and invite tenants to your ledger. We do not upload, store, or share your entire contact list on our servers; we only process the specific contact you choose to interact with.

4. Financial Data Disclaimer

All financial records entered into the app are for personal record-keeping. RentLekh does NOT have access to your bank accounts, credit cards, or UPI credentials. We act as a digital diary, not a payment intermediary.

5. Data Security & Storage

We prioritize your security by using Google Firebase to provide a secure environment with industry-standard encryption. While we take every precaution to protect your data against unauthorized access, you acknowledge that no digital storage method is 100% secure.

6. Third-Party Access

Your information is not shared with third parties for marketing purposes. We only share data with service providers (like Firebase) necessary for app functionality or when required by law to comply with legal obligations.

7. Account Deletion & Recovery

You have the right to delete your account at any time. Once initiated, your data is hidden immediately. You can restore your account within 14 days by logging back in. After 14 days, all data is permanently purged from our active databases and cannot be recovered.

8. Changes to this Policy

We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time. Continued use of the service after updates signifies your acceptance of the revised terms. Users are encouraged to check this page regularly.
